WHY “CHEVALIER” TRAINING
Besides being the founders last name…. The term “chevalier” originates from French, meaning “mounted soldier” or “knight.” Over time, it evolved to embody the honor, courtesy, and gallantry associated with knighthood.
In medieval Europe, a chevalier was a highly skilled and well-armed military warrior who fought on horseback, serving a lord in exchange for land and status. They were elite soldiers who were expected to uphold the code of chivalry, which emphasized values such as bravery, loyalty, and the protection of the weak.
The path to becoming a chevalier involved a rigorous training process, culminating in formal knighthood. Chevaliers were bound by a code of conduct that required them to act courteously and honestly, protect the vulnerable, and fight for the common good.
Their roles included not only serving as elite soldiers, but they also served as law enforcement officers, possessing the authority to imprison individuals and administer punishment as needed. They were the first-responders of their day and were responsible for the safety of their communities.
