
JOHN CHEVALIER
John has been teaching and training both youth and adults for over 40 years and is passionate about personal safety. His goal is to help individuals and companies to be safer and save lives by training in Emergency Medical Procedures, Personal Self Defense and knowing how to respond in an Active Shooter situation.
He is a Certified Instructor Trainer in Adult, Child, and Infant CPR-AED & First Aid, Basic Life Support, Advanced Bleeding Control, Wilderness First Aid, Childcare and Babysitting Safety and use of Emergency Oxygen. He is also a Certified Trainer for AVERT (Active Violence Emergency Response Training), as well as a Certified Personal Defense Readiness Fundamentals Coach – A Division of Blauer Tactical Systems.
John is a licensed security guard with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and served for 19 years as a professional educator, teaching Career & Technical Education classes to high school students in Northern California, making him a natural in safety training for schools.
He has been a featured speaker at many technical, leadership, and educational events, such as the National Association of Broadcasters Convention, the INFOCOMM Convention, the California League of Schools Annual Conferences, and the Educating for Careers Conferences in Northern California.


ERIC LEWIS
Eric is a retired law enforcement officer with over twenty years of service. He has served as a seasoned correctional deputy for The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and a community service officer for the Santa Rosa Junior College District Police. In the mid 2000’s he served asERIC LEWISa police officer for the City of Stockton.
He is a licensed security guard certified by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. He has worked for two large security firms (National Security Industries and Securitas) and is a certified in CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design).
Eric has over 11 years’ experience working as a safety consultant for DPREP, a company that focuses on threat assessments for schools K–12 and businesses. He was also on staff as an instructor at The Santa Rosa Junior College Public Safety Training Center with the Corrections/Probation Division, where he assisted in the state certification of new corrections recruits.
He has a passion for personal safety as a Certified Instructor in Adult, Child, and Infant CPR-AED, Adult & Pediatric First Aid and Basic Life Support. Eric draws on his background in public safety and his ability to connect with his students to provide quality safety training.

CAPT. ROB SMITH
Rob began his career in the United States Coast Guard, where he was a Division Captain and Certified Examiner. As a Licensed Master Captain, he often was the only medical provider onboard or at the docks for immediate response. He was a licensed respiratory therapist for critical care in emergency rooms, a Field Medic for a special operation’s private security firm, and a safety and security supervisor for a school district in Northern California.
In 1983 Rob began his career as a trainer, teaching Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Since then, he has been teaching individuals, schools, and businesses as a Certified Instructor in CPR/First Aid/AED, Epi-pen, Narcan, Asthma Aerosol Administration, Trauma Bleeding, Oxygen Administration and AVERT (Active Violence Response).
Since the 1980’s his focus has been on critical care, Incident Command Systems, Natural Disaster preparation and response, and providing on site medical care outside of the emergency room.
Educating and training the public has also become a passion of Rob’s. He has focused his training on how to respond to difficult situations by teaching his students about the causes of these situations, the treatment processes involved, and how to use medical devices and tools to assist in first aid.
